Ms. Seco introduced this website mid fall of this school year in her technology resource class. The Typing Club program guides students through 100 different typing lessons. At the end of each mini lesson, students are able to see their words per minute (wpm), percent accuracy, an overall score, and are given up to five stars.
While students already enjoyed learning to type and utilizing The Typing Club website, Ms. Seco introduced an incentive to finish all 100 lessons within the accuracy goal for each lesson. She ran the promotion until the end of February. The challenge proved to be no easy task. Only two students in grades 3-6 were able to complete all 100 grueling typing lessons with the target goal and receiving five stars for all 100 lessons!
Third grader, Dominic Castiglione completed all 100 lessons with 98% accuracy and received all 500 stars!
While sixth grader, Kaylee Andrews, also earned her 500 stars in the 100 lessons with an astounding 100% accuracy!
They both received handsome trophies for their accomplishments. While Ms. Seco hopes that the next school year will challenge more students to take on the typing challenge she is impressed and satisfied with the accomplishments of all the students in typing. Overall, students in grades 3-6 earned 52,329 stars with an average accuracy of 97%!
