Former PES student Ethan McKinney, Boy Scout Troop 482, finished his Eagle Scout Project during his Thanksgiving Vacation with assistance from other Boy Scouts who were also PES alumnus. Ethan made two benches, and a planter with seating for one of our trees. We are so thankful for these additions to our playground!
PES made headlines in the Clay Today newspaper!Students from Mrs. Turner's, Mrs. Spinks', and Mrs. Legge's classes were featured in the story, "Paterson Elementary Students Thanksgiving Thoughts".

FFA Delivers Nearly 3,000 Cabbages
FFA members from across Clay county gathered to deliver over 2,943 cabbage plants to third graders across the district. The program, sponsored by Bonnie plants, aims to teach students about the science behind plant growth and provide a hands-on opportunity to grow their own food. Students from all 26 elementary schools will participate in the program this year, which culminates with a monetary prize being awarded to the student who is able to grow the largest cabbage. Deliveries involved high school agriscience students presenting brief presentations about plant processes and providing tips and tricks for increased plant growth. These deliveries happened alongside many community supporters including the Clay County Farm Bureau, Clay County's Board of Commissioners, UF IFAS Extension and others. It's Shoppe-ing Time!
Paterson’s annual holiday shop is a beloved tradition that gives students the opportunity to choose their own inexpensive, quality gifts for family and friends. Most gifts are under $6. The Wonderland Gift Shoppe will be open Nov. 30 – Dec. 7. Each class has been assigned a specific day to visit. Additional information and budgeting envelopes will go home on Wednesday. Return the completed envelope – along with cash or check payable to PES – prior to your student’s assigned shopping day. Change will be returned to you.
If your student would like additional shopping time, he or she may visit the shoppe Nov. 30 – Dec. 6 before school (starting at 8:05 a.m.) or after school (until 3:00 p.m.) The final make-up day will be Dec. 7 from 8:05 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
We still need dozens of volunteers to help with budgeting, gift selection and wrapping. APPROVED VOLUNTEERS- Please visit https://goo.gl/AnEytL to sign up! It’s a fun and rewarding experience, and we simply can’t do it without you.
