Paterson’s spring book fair starts soon and we hope you can come: May 4 – May 14 (Thursday) from 8:00 – 3:00. The Book Fair is in Paterson’s Media Center.
Here’s how the book fair works: During the book fair, each child visits the Book Fair with his or her class during library resource time and makes his or her purchases. You and your family are invited to come during any of our open hours. We have books for all ages, including adults! And we think you’ll be happily surprised at the varied selection and reasonable prices. Profits go to Paterson Elementary School.
Besides bringing affordable, appropriate books to our school, a goal of our fair is to increase classroom libraries. One way is with Classroom Wish Lists, which allow you to donate books to your child’s classroom in your family’s name. Another is by book fair gift certificates for your child’s teacher. Be sure to view the Classroom Wish List cards when you arrive.
Come visit our Book Fair. Your child will be glad you did – and so will you!

Each April, America honors the courage and recognizes the sacrifice of over 1.7 million children in military families nationwide. The life of military children has always had its challenges, foremost among them being frequent relocations. Every time families move, children have to make new friends, get used to new schools, and find new clubs and teams to join. A lot of military children take these changes in stride and some even thrive on them, but it is hard - kids have to rebuild their world every time and find their place in it. Month of the Military Child provides a powerful opportunity to raise awareness and build support to help these children meet the unique challenges they face! It is an opportunity to recognize military children and youth for their heroism, character, courage, sacrifices and continued resilience. April 15th is PURPLE UP day! Wear purple to show your support for military and veteran children.
